Avoiding probate court

Probate court proceedings are often required for a person's assets to be transferred to their surviving loved ones upon their death.  Probate court proceedings can be long, costly, and confusing.

There are many ways to help avoid your assets going through probate court. Some of these options include naming your loved ones as beneficiaries on your retirement accounts, sharing ownership of your assets with your spouse, and re-titling your bank accounts as Transfer on Death so that ownership immediately transfers to your loved ones upon your death.
